Drill sergeant found dead at Fort Jackson military base, US Army says

FORT JACKSON, S.C. (WOLO)– Army officials say they are continuing to investigate after Staff Sgt. Allen M. Burtram, 34, a drill sergeant with the 2nd Battalion, 13th Infantry Regiment was found deceased at Fort Jackson on Dec. 8, but there is no apparent evidence of foul play.

On Friday, 34-year-old Staff Sergeant Allen Burtman, a drill sergeant with the 2nd Battalion 13th Infantry Regiment was found dead on base after he failed to report to work.

FORT JACKSON, S.C. (WOLO)– Army investigators are looking into the death of a drill sergeant at Fort Jackson.
On Friday, 34-year-old Staff Sergeant Allen Burtman, a drill sergeant with the 2nd Battalion 13th Infantry Regiment was found dead on base after he failed to report to work.
Fort Jackson emergency medical services were called and pronounced him dead on arrival.
There is no information on his cause of death.
