Benedict beats Carver in home-opener, 105-71

The Benedict Tigers placed six players in double figures, and all 11 players got on the scoreboard as the Tigers rolled over Carver College 105-71 in a non-conference basketball game on Tuesday night in the Benjamin E. Mays HRC Arena.

The Atlantic Coast Conference and ESPN have announced that the 2017 Dr Pepper ACC Football Championship Game between second-ranked Miami (Coastal Division) and No. 4 Clemson (Atlantic Division) will kick off on ABC in prime time at 8 p.m. on Saturday, December 2, from Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte, North Carolina.

A'ja Wilson Among Wooden Award Preseason Top 30

South Carolina senior forward A’ja Wilson has again been named to the John R. Wooden Award presented by Wendy’s Women’s Preseason Top 30, the organization announced today on ESPN’s SportsCenter and espnW. A finalist for the Wooden Award the last two seasons, she is one of eight forwards on the preseason list and one of six SEC representatives ranking among the nation’s top 30 players.

South Carolina senior forward A’ja Wilson earned SEC Player of the Week for her outstanding performances in the Gamecocks’ season-opening wins last week, the league office announced today. It is the second league weekly award in the Hopkins, S.C., product’s career.
