Adopted Rescue Brings Smiles to Richland County

His name is Sonny, and the 2 year old, 50 pound pitbull is a world away from his old life. His new owner who also happens to be a Richland County Deputy Sheriff says he may be his proud papa, but the entire department has adopted him.

SC Chiropractor Sentenced to 9 Years in Prison

LEXINGTON, S.C. (AP) _ A Lexington chiropractor has been sentenced to nine years in prison for inappropriately touching three female patients. Prosecutor Donnie Myers said Monday a judge sentenced 52-year-old Ronald Jeffrey Shows to a year and a half in prison on each of six counts of second degree assault and battery. He also was ordered to register as a sex offender.

Search for missing toddler continues

Columbia Police are continuing to search for missing 18 month old, Amir Jennings, despite not finding anything after searching for hours in a nearly 8 mile wooded area in the Northwestern part of Richland county, Thursday.

SC Legislators Discuss New Voter ID Requirement

COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) _ Plans to require better proof of citizenship to register to vote in South Carolina have won an early test in the Senate and opened the door to a new round of arguments about voting rights. A Senate Judiciary subcommittee on Thursday approved a bill that says citizenship proof can come from documents that include a driver's license, birth certificate, United States passport or tribal identification.
