Colonial Times: Under the Crown Dinner with Benjamin Franklin

April 21 @ 6:30 pm - 9:30 pm

Our special guests are Benjamin Franklin and his wife Deborah. Guests will enjoy an 18th century-type meal while Doctor Franklin regales us with stories of his experiences, both here in the Colonies as well as in England and France. Perhaps he will have a bit of good news for the Patriot cause to share with us. We caution you to take care that the Crown forces do not find out about his presence here in Augusta.

Historical interpreters in dress and manner from the 18th century will be your hosts & hostesses for the period dinner followed by historical entertainment and dance. There will be a puppet show featuring Punch and Judy. An 18th century dance master and live 18th century music are included. Tickets are $60 per person and are required for this dinner on Thursday. (The rest of the Under the Crown and Colonial Trades Fair event weekend is free)

Wine and ale will be offered in the Spring House Tavern starting at half past six in the evening. Your menu features: speared, roasted game; fire roasted vegetables; fresh greens; desserts of choice; fine wines and ale. Dance master Dana Cheney will call the dance of the evening after dessert. Call Lynn Thompson at 803-279-7560 or email her (lynn@colonialtimes.us) to check for availability of tickets for this dinner.
