Gamecocks Practice Report: Tuesday

COLUMBIA, S.C. (August 14, 2012) – The University of South Carolina football team worked out for two hours in full pads on Tuesday morning. They will hit the practice fields again tonight at 7:30 p.m. “We had a decent practice today,” said head coach Steve Spurrier after the first workout of the day. True freshman Shaq Roland continues to impress the Head Ball Coach. “Shaq Roland has a knack for going up and getting it at the last moment. He has the ability to get it at the highest point.” Coach Spurrier‘s offense has a wealth of talent at the tight end position this season. “We will see a lot of two tight ends,” noted Coach Spurrier. “Our (wide) receivers have not gotten much (media) attention, which is justified,” said Coach Spurrier, noting the loss of Carolina record-holder Alshon Jeffery. “But we‘re hitting more balls around here than we ever have.” shman Shaq Roland continues to impress the Head Ball Coach. “Shaq Roland has a knack for going up and getting it at the last moment.
